The divination by sickles is used by in this rite and is based upon folk
traditions found until very recently on Irish farms. In these traditions sickles are thrown at standing wheat in order to
forecast details of the near future. During this rite the people built a cairn at the entrance to the ritual area by each
person placing a stone as he or she entered the space. This tribe also has as its Patron Deity the Mor Righain.
Fili will make an invitation to Mor Righain and blessing for inspiration. Processional
led by Sacrificer, Fili and Drui at end and are the last to enter the sacred space. People add rocks to cairn as
they enter. Drui says"Tha sinn annseo chum urram a chur air na Diathan. We are here to honor the Gods."
Sacrificer makes offering to Daigre during the lighting of the fire.
Fire tender lights the fire saying: "Failte an teine coisrigte seo. Welcome the sacred flame. Daigre living flame that
dances before us, becomes leaping inspiration within to cook and temper us, we honor you." Chant: Drui makes Historical
statement Sacrificer makes offering to Lugh: Invitation to Lugh:"Rising like a second sun upon the horizon stands
the foster son of Tailtiu. He strides across the plane as a storm cloud will sweep across the sky. Coming to stand at the
gates and call for entrance among the people. Samildanach many skilled protector of the people, the long hand brandishing
the sword and casting forth the spear. Resplendent in your wisdom, accept our sacrifice Golden King and be welcome among the
people. Chant: Lugh is our champion Sacrificer makes offering to Tailtiu. Invitation to Tailtiu: "Bless the
hand of the mother who raises the son and builds the King. She who gives herself to clear the wildness from the land and gives
form to the world that the people may have a haven of order. Accept this sacrifice as we honor your own sacrifice giving yourself
to clear the plane that becomes your own grave and so you become the spirit of the cleared and ordered land which gives the
people a home." Chieftain establishes center and borders: "From the center to the edge, bless this sacred place. From
the center to the edge, bless these people From the center to the edge, stand now among worlds. Sacrificer makes offering
to Manannan: Opening the gates: " A Mhanannan, fosgailatear na geataichen. Oh Manannan let the gates be opened. Keeper
of the ways between, we honor you with a sacrifice and ask that you grant passage to all who come in peace." Ancestors
are called: "Welcome to our rite honored ones, your blood flows through us into the future as you who are ancestors become
again the children of the people as we shall stand among the ancestors and then again among the folk" Song for ancestors Sacrificer
makes offering to Deities. Drui honor the Gods: "Gods and Goddesses of our people welcome. Our voices honor you today,
may you hear in them the echoes of the voices of our ancestors who honored you in the ancient mists and groves. As you sailed
through the skies of elder days may your ships bring you now upon this shore. May feasts be laid before you, may songs fill
the air about you and may fires burn in your honor." Song for the Gods Lower the volume and bring forward godstaves
to name the Gods of the Tribe. The sacrificer offers a loaf to Crom Dubh while Drui calls to him and Filiu begins to
chant to him. After the calling the Tribe joins the chant. Chant: Black Bull The sacrificer is making an offering to
Lugh which the Drui is ask Lugh to stay the skies. Individual sacrifices are called for by Drui and led by the sacrificer. Individual
praise called for by the Drui and led by the Fili. Divination by sickles done by Drui. Waters mixed in bowl by
acolyte. Waters blessed by Drui. Cups and waters carried around and each person is served a cup of the waters. Everyone
holds up their cup while the Drui says: "Seo an uisge beatha." Waters of mystery collected in silence by acolyte. Drui
will thank the Gods of the Tribe. Fili will thank ancestors. Thank Tailtiu. Thank Lugh. Thank Mannanan,
close gates: "A Mhanannan duintear na geataichean, Manannan, may the gates be closed. We thank you elder God of
ancient passages. Tapadh leibh" Fire tender will thank Daigre. "As the sight of you goes from our eyes, we hold your leaping
eloquent tongue of flame within us to inspire our hearts, Tapadh leibh. Thank Mor Righain: The Drui makes a final statement
ending with the blessing ..... na Diathan leibh" All respond: Agus leat fhin.
